本日のお題は、ギリシャを襲った熱波のお話。

あまりの暑さにギリシャの動物園がアイスポップ仕様の餌を出したら、動物達に大好評だったというお話がメインかと思ったら、後半は山火事の話になった。
講師が記事中の、山火事の話で、多くの犬や猫が家に残されたという部分を読みながら、憤慨し始めた。
More than 450 dogs and cats were rescued from fires in July, many left in their homes as the owners fled, according to a local charity. About half have been returned to their owners, the others placed in temporary adoption.
そこで英語で憤慨されちゃうと、

に至らなかった。
この質問は答えるのにかなり準備が必要だ。
自分の国の絶滅危惧種なんて正確に把握していないもんじゃないか。
例えば朱鷺（トキ）。
朱鷺って、既に絶滅したんじゃないのか？
調べてみたら、単純にそう言えない、かなり複雑な現状が出てきた。
The Japanese crested ibis （朱鷺）has been reintroduced into the wild through artificial breeding, and the designation has been changed to "Endangered 1A", which is one rank lower in risk of extinction.
The crested ibis was once recognized as "extinct in the wild（自然絶滅）", but it became an "endangered species" due to the artificial hatching and release of Chinese crested ibis eggs.
要するにだ。
中国の朱鷺を迎えて人口繁殖したものを放鳥するようになり、その結果、認定が“自然絶滅”から“絶滅危惧種”に変更されたということのようだ。
As a result of efforts to breed and release birds, the crested ibis population has grown to more than 300 birds.
人口繁殖と放鳥の努力の結果、300羽以上の個体が確認されているという。
まぁーでも絶滅したんだね。日本の朱鷺は。
今いるのは中国の朱鷺だもんね。
アメリカ産の大豆で作った豆腐を利用した和食がアリなら、中国の朱鷺の子孫を日本の天然記念物にしたっていいじゃないかってことかな。
な～んか日本の未来像を見させられているようだ。
若年労働力不足で移民に頼るようになって、その移民の人達が日本に土着する。
結果、日本国民の半分以上が外国にルーツを持つようになる。
そんな日は必ず来るよ。
